How Does Acupuncture Work?~
The principal of traditional Chinese Acupuncture is to treat the whole person whatever the condition or symptom. It addresses many symptoms, but it is not a 'cure-all'. Practitioners gain experience and knowledge along the way and sometimes choose to specialise in certain directions, eg. Sleep Patterns, Stress, Migrane and Infertility. However many other ailments such as aches and pains, arthritis, digestion, menstruation, back pain and sports injuries can be addressed. These are just a few situations where a person unwanted symptoms make life distressing, but Traditional Chinese Acupuncture can be the treatment to find a way forward to improvement of recovery.

Acupuncture balances the vital energies with the insertion of hair-fine needles made of stainless steel into the skin, with barely any sensation.

The treatment brings better sleep, more energy, less stress and holistic calming for general well-being.

Tangible benefits should be felt fairly soon and visits can be spaced out to a 'seasonable preventative check up', rather like timing visits to the dentist.

Diagnosis evaluation decides which energy pathways (meridians) to use and needles can be inserted into various parts of the body, sometimes in a completely different area from the problem as there are various connections within the hundreds of acupuncture points. For Instance, a needle inserted into the hand could make a head pain improve.

This system of medicine has been used in china for thousands of years to restore and maintain good health. Fundamentally treating the whole person, both physically and emotionally. The lengthy training demands a sound knowledge of western medicine and if needed an acupuncturist would refer to your doctor, should the need arise.
